Requirements
  • have an earned doctoral degree in counselor education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program
  • have a related doctoral degree and have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013
  • have been employed as a full-time doctoral-level faculty member in a CORE-accredited master’s program prior to July 1, 2017
  • have graduated from a rehabilitation doctoral program prior to January 1, 2018
  • Ability to serve as primary Core Faculty in the School Counseling specialization
  • Demonstrated ability to teach courses in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health, possibly those in counseling skills and techniques, clinical counseling courses, and research methods
  • Demonstrated proof of creative and impactful teaching with adult learners, including proficiency in online instructional formats
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal, and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to coordinate, manage, and lead.
Responsibilities
  • teach courses in the Counseling M.S. program, with a particular focus in the School Counseling specialization and some coursework that also serves students in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling specialization
  • contribute to student growth and development through student advising, supervision, and mentorship
  • provide service to the school, college, university, and profession
  • program coordination and/or clinical field placement coordination depending on previous experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Licensed or license-eligible in the state of West Virginia or home state
  • Demonstrated experience working as a School Counselor within the K-12 school system
  • Prior experience serving as a track coordinator and/or clinical field placement coordinator in a CACREP-accredited counselor education program.
